The Initial Call

You’ve done a little research on your own, you’re strongly considering a procedure, and you’d like to go forward in the process. Most of the time, we can schedule your initial consultation within one month of your call.

Before Your First Appointment

To get to know a little bit about you and ensure your first appointment goes smoothly and quickly, we ask you to provide us with your personal health history. The more information you provide regarding your health will help us ensure your safety as we guide you through the process of aesthetic treatments and procedures.

The Initial Consult

Your first appointment with us will take approximately half an hour. First, one of our medical assistants will review your health history with you to ensure our information is complete and correct. She will also perform a basic examination to check your vitals. You can also take this time to talk through any initial questions or concerns you may have. Next, Dr. Lisa J. Learn will meet with you for 15-20 minutes to discuss your options and what you can expect from the procedure and recovery. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions or bring up any concerns! We want you to feel fully informed, prepared, and confident about your potential surgery. Finally, you’ll meet with our front desk for a cost analysis of the procedure and schedule your next appointment. If applicable, we will also submit the necessary information for approval or pre-authorization to your insurance.

Virtual Consultation (Out-of-Area Patients)

We understand that not all our patients can make it to Fort Lauderdale for multiple visits before surgery. Dr. Lisa J. Learn is happy to schedule virtual consultations with clients at a mutually arranged time.

Pre-Operative Visit (Cosmetic Procedures)

For elective cosmetic procedures, we will schedule a pre-operative appointment approximately two weeks before your surgery. This provides you with an additional opportunity to ask any questions that may have arisen since your initial consultation. You will also need to provide your informed consent form for the procedure at this time.

First Post-Operative Visit

Two days after your surgery, you’ll meet with Dr. Lisa J. Learn again for a check-up to ensure everything looks good after your procedure. We’ll change your bandages, check the drainage, and provide any additional information you need about the recovery process.

1-2 Weeks After Surgery

Sutures are removed. Dr. Learn will answer any questions you may have about resuming your normal activities, your post-operative body and anything else you may want to discuss.
