How long does it take to recover from a facelift?

If you long for firmer, younger-looking skin, you might consider a facelift. This procedure tightens the skin and adjusts tissues and muscles under it to erase away years of wrinkles. If you’re wondering how long it will take to recover from a facelift, it depends on the extent of the procedure as well as your overall health and age, and how well you adhere to care instructions.

After surgery, you may not feel up to going out in public, but you will be feeling better within just a few days. Bandages will be removed at this time, but expect bruising and swelling to last 2 to 3 weeks.  You will need to schedule several follow up visits during a 2 to 3 week period, at which time your stitches will be removed. Recovery time is no comparison to the fact that your new look will generally last for the next 5 to 10 years!
