Age can have a significant damaging effect on your skin. Wrinkles, sun damage, stretch marks, bags under the eyes, droopy eyelids, loss of tone—you get the picture.
Of course, you can’t stop yourself from aging. But that doesn’t mean you can’t age gracefully! Taking care of your skin over the years can keep your skin looking healthy, soft, smooth, and supple well into your golden years. You may not look exactly the way you did when you were 20, but there’s no age limit for looking beautiful and vibrant!
Here are a few great anti-aging tips for your skin:
Eat and drink healthy! What you get out depends a great deal on what you put in. Drink plenty of water, get lots of vitamins (especially Vitamin D), say no to sugars and processed foods and yes to veggies, fruits, and healthy fats (Omega-3).
Protect your skin from the sun. Yes, we know the allure of a golden bronze tan. But sun exposure is one of the most significant skin ager in existence. That doesn’t mean you can never go to the beach, but always use sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) including on the feet neck, ears—anywhere the light touches. When you’re out and about, look for ways to minimize unnecessary exposure: heats, UV-resistant clothing, even walking on the shady side of the street.
De-stress. Constant worrying and running around doesn’t just bring down your mental health. Your physical appearance can suffer, too. Make sure to take time for yourself and do whatever you need to do to de-stress—getting plenty of sleep, getting a massage, a spa day, yoga, meditation, etc.
Get a chemical peel. An occasional chem peel can keep your face looking healthy by removing the dead, damaged outer layers of skin and revealing the smoother, healthier, more even-toned skin underneath. Chemical peels can minimize wrinkles, improve skin tone, reduce the appearance of acne, scars, and sun damage, and more.
Rejuvenate your skin with injections. Muscle relaxers like Botox or fillers like Juvederm can help you erase wrinkles, laugh lines, crows’ feet, and other fine lines and signs of aging on your face. One other alternative?
Laser skin resurfacing which uses short, concentrated beams of light to gently vaporize damaged skin and boost collagen production in the healthy lower layers.
Consider a cosmetic procedure. Several of the services we offer result in healthier, firmer, younger-looking skin. Procedures range from chin, neck, or face lifts to eyelid surgery, lip augmentation, liposuction, and more.
